Goal: To know basic properties, diode characteristics, I-V curve
/ Diode is two terminal, semiconductor, non-linear I-V characteristics, has current that flows in one direction.
/The current flow from p-type (anode) to the n-type (cathode).
/ There are three operating regions: forward, reversed, reverse breakdown.
/ Is depends on the material, doping, geometry, voltage, and temperature.
/For Is conduction start from 0.4 to 0.7 and if the applied voltage exceeds 0.7, the current starts increasing rapidly.
/If the voltage in the reverse operation exceeds the breakdown voltage, the current increases rapidly and can destroy the diode if there is not enough series resistance.
/ Static resistance is V/I
/Usually, we depend on dynamic resistance.
/ Dynamic R< Static R
/ Revers R is R in reverse operation.
/ Rr= infinity in ideal situation
