Goal: To understand the diode as a wave-shaping and level-shifting
1/ Wave-shaping= R+ diode+ voltage sources
2/ the application of wave-shaping is called : clipper, limiter, amplitude selector, or slicer.
3/ The main gaol of it is to prevent the signal from exceeding specific limit, either positive or negative.
4/ Clamper is adding or shifting the ac signal with specific dc level.
5/ Clamper= C + R + diode
6/ The signal is starting after specific time ( time of charging ) = RC
7/ Pulse width < RC
8/ Output peak-to-peak in clampers = input peak-to-peak
